Rinnai B26 Installed

The Rinnai B26 is a Builders Preferred model, or what Rinnai calls it a Builders Range Continuous Flow Gas Hot Water System. It is exactly like the Standard Rinnai 26 in every way except it’s colour which is greyish, the warranty is 10 years instead of 12 years.  If anything is going to go wrong with a Rinnai Infinity 26 it will happen in the first 2 years generally.

Grease Trap Pump Pit Repair and Replacement

Grease Trap Pit Collapse

This job is a stinky one. The room is small and the grease trap pump pit has got a collapsed wall and the grease water is flowing through the soil and sand and making its way to the stormwater and this is causing an excessive smell in the basement carpark.

Our job is to dig out the old grease trap pit which is fibrecrete which is concrete mixed with fibreglass. Over time these tanks whether a larger grease trap or a pit will breakdown and collapse. Plastic replacements are definitely the best solution or if this is not possible due to costs you may need to form up a new pit and waterproof the tank.

We prefer the plastic tanks by far from companies like Viking Plastics, CV Plastics and Halgan. They all make excellent products. The  reason we use different companies is that not all jobs are the same and these companies all have different tank options and sizes that may be best sorted for a particular installation.

Rinnai Infinity vs Builders 26

How to choose the best Rinnai to go for. They both are Rinnai’s after all. Is one better then the other.

This is a quick review of the two Rinnai Continuous flow gas hot water systems.

The Rinnai Infinity 26 and the Rinnai Builders B26 models.

This review may make it easier for you to decide I hope. Both come in Natural Gas NG and LPG models. So what are the differences between these two Rinnai Continuous Flow Hot Water Heaters Series.

Quick Review Answer:  Very little to Nothing. Just buy the Rinnai Builders B26. It’s excellent and has the same energy rating and usage and equal output capacity as the Rinnai Infinity 26.

Long Review Answer:

  1. Price.  About $200-300 more for the Rinnai Infinity 26. Rinnai B26 is around $819-950 and Rinnai Infinity 26 between $1000-1350. Installation costs are exactly the same.
  2. The colour is different.  Rinnai Infinity 26 is White.  The Rinnai B26 is Dune or greyish brown.
  3. The Rinnai Infinity 26 has a little LED display that tells you it is on.  The Rinnai B26 does not.  You are never going to see it once installed and it has zero impact on the running of the system.
  4. Same energy rating which is currently 6.1 Stars
  5. Same capabilities as to hot water produced per minute
  6. Warranty is 2 years less on the Rinnai B26.  It has a ten year not 12 year warranty.   If the Rinnai passes the 2 year mark with no problems you are in the clear for a very long time.  They are excellent.  Some Rinnai’s we have replaced are over 20 years old.

When is comes down to the Rinnai Builders vs Infinity just buy the Rinnai B26. It is a very very reliable hot water system.

What about installation cost?

Heavy Duty Hot Water System Cost Saving. How?

Are there other options to reduce your cost on installing expensive hot water systems every 6-8 years at a cost of between $7000-9000 each time.  We have some great ways for you to reduce your hot water running costs and at the same time reduce your replacement costs as the years go by. In some cases reducing ongoing maintenance cost by up to 40%. Lets say you have multiple heavy duty hot water systems in a bank or row that are manifolded or connected together replacing one system every 6-8 years can really add up and deplete the Strata funds.

Call us out the next time your system fails.  Keep in mind that if you have a Rheem 275l heavy duty then you have a great system already but you can make your money go further.
